I Can't Believe It!

I am having a hard time believing that Christmas is less than a week away, and feel bad that I have neglected my blogging duties. All in all have been very busy lately. I finished my class I was taking, English 2010, and thanks to all who posted a comment or emailed me about womanhood, your comments were wonderful, and I ended up with an 'A' on the assignmen and an 'A' in the class as my final grade.
I am looking forward to Christmas, with siblings coming into town and getting to see my nieces. I was very proud of myself for getting my holiday shopping done early, and even have them wrapped and under my tree ready to be handed out (yes Amber, I have a tree now!)
Other than that my life has been pretty boreing lately, hence the lack of posts. Will have to think of something clever to post about later, I am sure I can think of some interesting antidote to tell, either from the shark tank (dateing life) or I can recount some more prison stories just to make Keri laugh! Happy holidays to all!

HELP!!!!!!!

So I haven't posted in a while, mainly because I am always busy and when I do think about it I am at work, and the state computers won't let me post most of the time. This post is mainly for my own selfish wants and wishes so if you feel like comenting or emailing in response please do so (email to pixiedust119@msn.com). Anyways this is a call for help to all my women friends and even you have just happened upon this and want to comment pleas do so. I am in an English 2o10 class and need to write a research paper. I am doing it on what is means to be a woman. So all you ladies out there, tell me what it means to you to be a women. Do you work, stay at home, both? What went into that decision, are you happy you made it, do you plan to change that decision at some point? If you have daughters what do you want to make sure you teach them that you were taught or that you wished you had been taught? What is something your own mother taught you about being a woman that has helped you in someway? Kind of a random paper, but I am having fun doing the research for it and finding all the odd facts about what women have done in the past and present. So basically tell me your thoughts, feelings, concerns, whatever on being women, and what makes you prowd to be a women. So yes selfish because I would like the opinions of all of you to help in the paper. If any of you don't want to be quoted in my paper let me know and I won't otherwise there is the possibility your coment will be referenced in my paper. Thanks for the help and comment ASAP!

Chi-Chi

This is Chi-Chi. I went to Gunnison this past week to visit a friend and fell in love. I wasn't planning it, but that is usually how love happens right. So now I have two dogs, both pretty cute and small. Don't know if I am going to keep the name, so if anyone has ideas let me know. Am toying with the name Tayler the Late Dog.

Ahhh, Memories.....

On Saturday some friends and I went up to SLC and saw 'My Fair Lady' at the Pioneer Theater. It was great. The actors did very well, the costumes were fabulous, and they all had good sets of pipes, which is always a must have in a musical. I was slightly distracted during part of the play however. When Eliza Doolittle is singing her little heart about how long she could have danced for, my mind had wandered off into memories. The familiar words took be back to my freshman year of High School and to the all girls choir. We sang a medley of songs that Mr Lindsey mashed together himself on two of them came from 'My Fair Lady'. I have very fond memories of choir, but we had the most awful choir outfits that year. I think most of us in the choir have suppressed the memory, but let me just say- the pants! Oh my the pants. The concept was good in theory, but the fabric we ended up getting was not stage appropriate. We looked as if we had on black garbage bags. It was really bad. Not to mention the next year we had the dresses that wouldn't wrinkle. Anyone remember those??? Ah yes, fond memories indeed!

Ode to a Mushroom

Disclaimer: this post will have nothing to do with mushrooms, just liked the title.

I had a fantastic Sunday!!! Even though I was incredibly sore- I walked a 5K on Saturday while walking my brother's dog, bad combo- I had a really great day. The highlight of the day after having my visiting teachers come, going to a commitee meeting, and church was choir practice!

Now I love my ward choir. Am slightly biased I will admit but I think it is one of the best choirs I have been in. I believe what really helps is 1) we have guys that show up and know how to sing and 2) most of the people in the choir have been in choirs previously so they already know how to read music.

We haven't been having choir practice in the summer because lets face it singles ward, no one is there in the summer, so we picked it up yesterday after a dry spell. I have been practically giddy all week because I knew that choir was happening on Sunday. My happiness was not wasted either! It was a great practice. Our first number we are going to sing is a fabulous arangement of 'I Need Thee Every Hour' and let me just tell you, I almost cried. We have new people in the choir and some of the tenors were amazing.

So I am happy! Not quite as happy as man happy, but pretty close.

Mornings

I am really not a morning person. I would much rather stay up late and watch movies, talk on the phone, date, all that fun stuff. However, I have to get up at 5 in the morning in order to get to work by 6:30 so staying up late doesn't happen very often, and my morning starts very, very early. Now I say 'get up' because I am not really 'awake.' The waking up process doesn't start for about an hour, usually while I am driving to work, or on days like today, during the first couple of hours of work. I am kind of rambling, but that's ok cause I am really tired and have to stay awake for class tonight. Hopefully the diet coke will kick in soon!!!

Laundry Day

So I hate folding laundry. I really don't mind washing or drying the laundry, but I really, really, hate folding it and putting it away. More often than not my laundry will stay in the clothes hamper until I need to put it on, then it will be transfered to the dirty clothes hamper without ever seeing the inside of the dresser. I don't know where this aversion came from, but it is there. We have machines to wash and dry the cloths, so why not have one that folds them too???
